Waiting for Spring
I realized over the past week that my blog is simply too depressing. I don't mean to fill it with bad news from around the world...that is just the reality of the situation in my view. Too much news about war, murder, deception, abuse, and everything in between has made me avoid reading and watching the news for the past few days. I do not want to see Iraq descend into civil war. I do not want to see children being killed by F-16's in Gaza. I don't want to see millions of people dying becaus of the drought in the Horn of Africa... and the list goes on. Some tragedies are seen and others are unseen; there are so many that they are competing for attention.
I figured that it may just be the Winter season. I'm not very fond of it. I enjoy watching snow cover the streets and neighborhoods from my bedroom window. But that's about it. I don't like the cold weather or the wet streets or shoveling the drive way.
So I await Spring, and hope that it will bring better news. It's just around the corner. Warm weather brings a flush of green grass and wild flowers, sunny skies and open toe shoes, sun roofs and sun glasses, and of course cherry blossoms in DC!

Spring this year will begin a day early in the Western Hemisphere on March 20th, and daylight savings time will begin April 2nd.
So start your countdown fellow warm weather lovers, spring is in the air :o)
